What does the Karis dialect sound like? Step into the kiosk and pick up the phone!
Words and expressions, stories, songs and more by local talents.
Most of the content is in Swedish, but the bilingual nature of the area is clearly present.
The material includes excerpts from the Karis revues of 1995 and 2026, the radio programme Backspegeln, and songs by Pumpvikins Putte and Teddy Granroth.
The content varies throughout the summer.
The telephone kiosk was the last one in Karis and remained in use until the year 2000. It stood by the present-day pharmacy, at the so-called “bank corner”.
Karis Telefon Ab preserved the kiosk and has loaned it to the project.
