Circus Finlandia – 50 Years!

Circus Finlandia celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this year. This is a remarkable achievement for a traditional Finnish touring circus.

The circus tradition in Finland was fading before Finlandia was founded in 1976, so from the very beginning it was clear that the founding couple from Karjaa, Carl Gustaf Jernström and Leena Jurvakainen, would need courage, perseverance, and vision.

The anniversary year begins on Friday, April 17, 2026, traditionally in Karjaa. The show, led by circus director Carl Jernström Jr., is packed with skill and excitement: a mighty strongman, breathtaking aerial acrobatics, a thrilling Wheel of Death, hula hoop artistry, an incredibly beautiful traditional circus act, a world-famous clown, an outrageously entertaining juggler… and of course, a circus orchestra. Everything that belongs to a traditional circus!
